Diriyah – Saudi Arabia
3D LASER SCANNING - AERIAL SURVEY - 3D MODELLING
The project
Dariya is a Saudi Arabian village located in the Saudi capital, Riyadh. Diriyah was the birth place of the Saudi royal family and the capital of the Emirate of Diriyah from 1744until 1818 when the first Saudi dynasty reigned.
The mission
Our goal was to produce a high-accuracy 3D mesh model using aerial photogrammetryand 3D laser scanning in a projection mapping project.
The Execution
GEOTECH 3D collected high-resolution images using a multirotor drone, a custom-built UAV equipped with laser sensors and photogrammetry. The project area is approximately 0.35 square kilometers, and established ground control points were before the mission to ensure high accuracy georeferenced results. We gathered 14000 photos and gave the final 3D model in 8 days.
