The Project

Yansab Butadiene Plant owned by Yanbu National Petrochemical Company (Yansab) is involving the construction of a butadiene plant located at Yanbu, Al Madinah Province, Saudi Arabia.

The Mission

Laser scanning aims to determine the aboveground features and their location. This includes equipment, pipe rack structures, pipe and fittings, the area of cable trays, etc.

The Execution

The standard technology used for this project was 3D laser scanning, a device that analyzes a real-world object or environment to collect data on its shape and appearance (i.e., Colour).

The collected data can then be used to construct digital, three-dimensional models. Point cloud scanned over 360° with a range of 152m, and the resolution density was 2 mm. In addition, the point cloud has been registered, and QC inspected using an intelligent alignment system.
